Getting set up at CEMCEM 시작 준비

Welcome to CEM Studio! CEM is a learning community built around one idea: steady beats perfect. We help you build consistent daily study habits in English and Korean. Let's get you set up.

Step 1. Install the required apps

• KakaoTalk: announcements and communication. Add Cat: cats_engm8
• Moodle: homework submission and study materials
• Google Classroom: reviewing what was covered in class
• Quizlet: vocabulary practice (for students enrolled in applicable courses)

Step 2. Register your Studio account

To prevent spam and keep student accounts secure, direct sign-up is turned off. Send the following via KakaoTalk (cats_engm8) or email (admin@catsmates.studio or cem.edu.hub@gmail.com):

• Preferred username
• First name (in English)
• Last name (in English)
• Email address (Gmail preferred)
• Phone number

Once your account is created, you'll receive a temporary password. Log in and change it right away.

Step 3. Set up Moodle

1. Install the Moodle app (the orange "M" with the graduation cap)
2. Enter the studio address: catsmates.studio
3. Log in with the username and password provided

Refresh the app regularly so you don't miss updates.

How classes and homework work

• All classes run live on Zoom (online) or in the Classroom (in person)
• Materials and homework are posted on the CEM studio website
• Submit homework through Moodle. Images, audio, and video are all accepted
• Daily submission is strongly recommended. Late submissions may mean delayed or missed feedback
• Feedback usually arrives within 2 business days of submission

For online students

Zoom details

Before your first class, you'll receive the Zoom link, Meeting ID, and Passcode via KakaoTalk and email.

What to prepare

• Notebook and writing tools
• Headset or earphones (recommended for clearer audio)
• A tablet, laptop, or desktop is recommended over a smartphone

For in-person students

What to bring

• Your book, notebook, and writing tools
• A laptop or tablet is welcome if you'd like to bring one

Missed a class? Missed homework?

If you miss a class, that day's lesson content is available on Google Classroom. Make-up rules are on the Policies page.

If homework doesn't get done, don't panic. CEM values consistency over perfection, so just pick it up again the next day. Repeated missed homework can affect refund eligibility, so check the Policies page for details.

Study Hall

Study Hall is CEM's open study session. Enrolled students use it for make-up classes, and it's also open to anyone who wants to bring their own study material and work alongside us (casual rate applies).

Tuition

Payment details are sent individually once enrolment is confirmed. Please include the student's name when making payment. Full payment terms are on the Policies page.

Announcements and schedule changes

CEM runs on a term-based schedule. Any changes will be announced via KakaoTalk.
